Monthly Mindfulness Classes

These meetings are for those that have completed an 8 week Mindfulness course with myself.
It is an opportunity to support your ongoing Mindfulness practice and each month we focus on a different theme. We start with a Mindfulness practice, followed by a talk on the theme for the month and then there is time for questions and discussion.
These meetings are held on the second Monday of the month in Cork (Ennismore Retreat centre, Cork) and the third Monday of the month in Clonmel Place4U, Morton Street).

There is no set charge for the night but it is offered in the spirit of “Dana” or generosity. This is an ancient practice whereby the teacher offers teachings or guidance out of generosity and those receiving them have the opportunity to show their generosity by giving a donation at the end of the night to cover whatever they feel needs to be covered.

This term we will focus on the basics of Mindfulness practice. Again and again it is important to come back to the basics of Mindfulness practice and really understand, from your own experience, that through a regular meditation/ mindfulness practice you are building a solid foundation so that when the storms of life hit, there is a steadiness deep within.

This retreat will offer the opportunity for you to deepen your practice of mindfulness and investigation in a quiet, safe and supportive environment.

This retreat is residential and all accommodation is in single rooms and the food is vegetarian.

Cost: The cost of the retreat is 420 euro to cover food and bed. The teaching/ facilitation is offered on a donation basis so at the end of the retreat there is an opportunity to offer a donation.
Booking: If you wish to reserve a place on the retreat please let me know and I will send you a short booking form and then you can return it with a non refundable deposit of 100 euro.
Who is the retreat suitable for?
This week of Insight/ Mindfulness Meditation and heart based practises is suitable for anyone that has a regular mindfulness/ meditation practice and has done at least one residential weekend of silent meditation.
The daily schedule will consist of sitting and walking meditation, a daily talk, Loving Kindness and Compassion practices and each participant will have one on one meetings with Catherine .

Catherine Sutton has a Masters degree in Mindfulness Based Approaches to Health and Education and has been teaching Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for 14 years both to groups and individuals. She has had a personal mediation practice for over 36 years having done study and silent retreats with many well known meditation teachers. Catherine has had an interest in Buddhist philosophy and psychology for many years. She is a trained Mindful Self Compassion teacher and has done training in Insight Dialogue with Gregory Kramer and Phyllis Hicks.
