Monthly Mindfulness Classes

These meetings are for those that have completed an 8 week Mindfulness course with myself.
It is an opportunity to support your ongoing Mindfulness practice and each month we focus on a different theme. We start with a Mindfulness practice, followed by a talk on the theme for the month and then there is time for questions and discussion.
These meetings are held on the second Monday of the month in Cork (Ennismore Retreat centre, Cork) and the third Monday of the month in Clonmel Place4U, Morton Street).

There is no set charge for the night but it is offered in the spirit of “Dana” or generosity. This is an ancient practice whereby the teacher offers teachings or guidance out of generosity and those receiving them have the opportunity to show their generosity by giving a donation at the end of the night to cover whatever they feel needs to be covered.

This term we will focus on the basics of Mindfulness practice. Again and again it is important to come back to the basics of Mindfulness practice and really understand, from your own experience, that through a regular meditation/ mindfulness practice you are building a solid foundation so that when the storms of life hit, there is a steadiness deep within.

Cultivating a Path towards Freedom – 8 mindful steps to deepen wisdom, steadiness and meaning.

In Ennismore Retreat Centre, Cork

Retreat description:

Mindfulness allows us to see more clearly what is present in our experience but it was never taught, in its original context, as a stand -alone practice. It was taught as part of an integrated suite of practices that are seen together as supports for a life of greater freedom. Mindfulness is most effective if practiced alongside other factors of a “whole life path”.  These include a greater understanding of cause and effect, cultivating wise intention, taking care of speech, actions and how we can choose to live with less harm, and seeing that wise effort is a support in developing both mindfulness and the ability to concentrate the mind. These eight steps are like a path.  We will explore these over the week through a daily talk and ongoing practice and opportunity to see how this integrated path is indeed a path of cultivation, leading to greater contentment and ease – even freedom.
This retreat is suitable for anyone that has done at least one weekend residential meditation/mindfulness retreat and has some level of mindfulness practice.
Venue: Ennismore Retreat Centre, Cork
Cost: 430 euro for bed and food and there is opportunity to offer a donation for the facilitation / teaching at the end of the retreat.
